Dementia & Co is an organisation bringing members of the community together, engaging persons living with dementia, care partners, seniors and youth together in fun activities partially led by the community members. The Tea Dances provide a great opportunity to learn more about dementia, express your emotions, bond with family members and make friends.
Alison Lim founded Dementia & Co with her daughter in 2021 to increase peer support for persons living with dementia. Alison is diagnosed withyoung-onset dementia and has been involved in co-creating programmes with researchers and and sharing her experience as a person living with dementia and self-advocate.
The Tea Dance is not just about dancing. While it gives participants the chance to pick up cha-cha and the waltz, Tea Dance is also an avenue for people to familiarise themselves with dementia, share stories and knowledge, do neuro-exercises together, and even engage in activities like modelling.
