Tough Nut: The Art of Letting Go brings five caregivers to the stage — not as characters in a play, but as the storytellers themselves.
No actors have been cast.
No stories were borrowed.
Developed through Expressive Arts Therapy and creative storytelling, the work follows caregivers whose loved ones have been diagnosed with dementia. It explores what the experience of caring for someone who is gradually changing asks of caregivers in return. Blending movement, visual imagery, and storytelling, it offers an intimate look at the heart of caregiving.
This 90-minute performance invites you to understand what it means to let go without losing connection and to keep caring without losing yourself — straight from the hearts of those who lived it.
