Campaign under Dementia-Friendly Singapore Movement
All of us have a part to play in raising awareness about dementia. By coming together, we can build a Kampung Spirit where people embrace and support persons living with dementia. To reach out to different communities, activities such as exhibitions, talks, and roadshows are being held. Through these platforms, you can learn more and be involved in creating a caring and inclusive society for persons living with dementia and their caregivers.
#DementiaFriendlySG Movement – Let’s Build a Caring and Dementia-Friendly Singapore Together!
On 20 November 2022, AIC officially launched a campaign to spearhead the national #DementiaFriendlySG movement in tandem with the national movement to make Singapore a dementia friendly country.
In line with the campaign’s tagline, “Lend a Helping Hand, be a Dementia Friend”, we aim to raise greater public awareness about dementia and encourage individuals to lend a helping hand as a Dementia Friend. Together, we can build a caring and supportive environment for persons living with dementia to lead a fulfilling life.

DementiaFriendlySG Exhibition – Facing Dementia in Singapore
The #DementiaFriendlySG movement was followed by the launch of “Facing Dementia in Singapore” exhibition, which was officially unveiled by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam on 6 January 2024 at the National Museum of Singapore. This interactive exhibition is part of the national #DementiaFriendlySG campaign, which aims to raise awareness about dementia, and rally support from youths and families.
This video highlights the importance of Singapore’s journey to becoming a dementia-friendly nation, the implemented efforts and dementia friendly communities (DFCs). Through this video, you will have a better understanding of the dementia landscape in Singapore and be inspired to help persons living with dementia and their loved ones to live life to the fullest.
Dementia Symposium – Fostering Connection in Dementia Care
The Dementia Symposium titled “Fostering Connection in Dementia Care”, held in collaboration with and led by persons living with dementia, took place on 18 January 2025 at Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre. The symposium brought together care professionals, persons living with dementia, and caregivers to foster mutual understanding and spark meaningful conversations on how to provide quality care to persons with dementia, and to support them in living out a meaningful life.
