Male caregivers have often been underrepresented in caregiver research. This may limit our knowledge of their caregiving experiences and social service providers’ ability to support them more effectively. In view of this, Fei Yue Community Services (FYCS) and National University of Singapore’s Next Age Institute (NAI) collaborated to conduct a qualitative study to understand caregiving from the unique perspective of male caregivers. This webinar will present the key findings of the study and their implications for community mental health services.

What do we do?

This seminar is conducted in English and prevents the key findings on the study, including the impact and challenges of caregiving including the impact of COVID-19, coping with caregiving stress, personal growth as a result of caregiving, and usage of formal support services among male caregivers.

There are 4 speakers at this seminar: Thang Leng Leng (Associate Professor & Co-Director, Next Age Institute, NUS), Ivana Ong from (Research Executive, Fei Yue Community Services), Lim Wei Loong (Principal Research Executive, Fei Yue Community Services), Liew Wan Ting, Clarissa (Programme Executive, Fei Yue Community Services). The seminar will be moderated by Dr. Liew Tau Ming (Senior Consultant, SGH; Clinical Associate Professor, Duke-NUS Medical School)
