This talk aims to raise dementia awareness, covering early signs, management strategies, communication skills, and support services. It also focuses on reducing stigma and fostering compassionate community care for individuals and caregivers.
Mr Aminuddin Afiq Bin Abdullah is a Senior Social Work Associate with CREST Viriya Community Services @ Jurong West, where he supports early detection of dementia, facilitates cognitive stimulation activities, and provides emotional support to caregivers. Amin is passionate about supporting seniors in the community and has a strong interest in leveraging social media to advance the cause of a dementia-friendly Singapore.
Mr Tang Zong Heng is an Associate Psychologist with CREST Viriya Community Services @ Jurong West and holds an Honours Degree in Psychological Science. He supports clients living with dementia and their caregivers through conducting assessments, delivering interventions, and managing the needs of clients with dementia and their caregivers. Zong Heng leverages his psychological training to support caregivers in developing healthier coping strategies, with the aim of reducing caregiver stress in the community.
